6th place at State!

Best team finish ever at the WIAA State Meet for the Rocket Girls Swimming & Diving team!
Thank you to all the team members, family and friends who made the trip to the UW-Madison Natatorium (encountering Badger game day traffic) to support the team! It was awesome to see you in the stands! Thank you for the support of the team!! 

State Championship in Diving for Av!

We were so proud to see her defend her title in the first event of the meet! Bailey did a great job in her first State appearance and finished 21st.
Bella helped lead the way in the individual swimming events where she finished 6th in the 200 Free and 3rd in the 500 Free, making podium in both events! Claire scored points in her events by placing 12th in the 50 Free and 15th in the 100 Free! Gabby had awesome performances in her individual events by finishing 9th in the 100 Breast and 17th in the 100 Free. Kara capped an excellent season with a 19th place in 100 Breast. 
                          Rocket Relays were flying!
200 Medley - Evie, Hannah, Payton, Sammie started the swimming events off with a 20th place finish!
200 Free - 4th fastest in the state!! Bella, Gabby, Payton and Claire set a new team record in this event and earning All-State honors!
400 Free - Bella, Claire, Evie and Gabby earn All-State honors by placing 7th in the State! Also setting a team record with their efforts in the final event of the meet!

STATE

Excitement is in the air as we get ready to compete at the WIAA State Swimming & Diving meet this weekend in Madison! 

We would love to see some familiar faces down at the UW-Natatorium! Diving starts at 10am on Saturday & Swimming starts at 3pm! If you are unable to make it, but would like to follow how the Rockets are doing, the WIAA will be streaming it for a small fee at: WIAA State Meet

The Rockets will be competing in the following events:
Diving: Av and Bailey
200 Medley Relay: Evie, Hannah, Payton, Sammie
200 Free: Bella
50 Free: Claire
100 Free: Claire and Gabby
500 Free: Bella
200 Free Relay: Claire, Gabby, Payton, Bella
100 Breast: Gabby and Kara
400 Free Relay: Bella, Claire, Evie, Gabby

JV Conference

Wishing all of our JV Conference swimmers Good Luck!

The JV Conference meet is at Appleton North High School on Monday, Oct. 23rd. It starts at 5:00 and there is a $4 admission charge per adult, $2 per student/child, Free for Senior Citizens and $1 for heat sheets. 

The girls are done with practices if JV Conference is their final meet, but we do have a few team events that everyone should attend:
  • Wednesday, Oct. 25th team meeting in pool bleachers 3:30-4:00. Equipment will be returned at this time if done at JV Conference.  Towel, jacket and shorts should be washed and dried before returning.  You do not need to wash the parka.
  • Saturday, Nov. 4th - we need some team members to be timers for the Sectional meet. They should meet in pool lobby at 11:30am.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 14th - team potluck banquet at 6:00pm in NHS Cafeteria. This is a time when the coaches recognize the girls with a funny story from the season. This is organized by the junior class and more information regarding the theme with be coming!
  • Monday, Nov. 20th - team banquet at Bridgewood. The meal starts at 6:30 and tickets can be purchased from the school, if attending the meal.  The banquet portion of the evening will begin at 7:00pm and open to all family members.

October team events

We have a lot of activities coming up in October!
It's time for our annual olive oil fundraiser! Order forms went home last week and are due on Tuesday, Oct. 10th. We ask that the girls sell at least $50 worth of olive oil or can opt out of the fundraiser by making a $50 donation. The oil olive will be sent home with the girls after our team meeting (3:30-4:00) on Wednesday, Oct. 25th. 

Our last home dual meet of the season is on Tuesday, Oct. 10th! We will recognize our Seniors at the break! Congratulations class of 2018!

Saturday, Oct. 14th is the Oshkosh West Spirit Invite! All team members are expected to attend the meet. Some of the team will be swimming and some of the team will be sharing their "Rocket spirit." The bus leaves NHS at 8:00am and will return around 12:30pm.

October 16-20 is the week where the team exchanges Ghost Gal gifts.  The maximum spent for the week is $20-25.

October 22nd is the team Halloween party at the Osero's home. The girls should plan to meet there in their costume at 3:30. The road rally will go from 4-5:30 and each team will need a parent driver. Food and pictures will be at 5:30-7:00!

Pre-Season Checklist

Only one week to go until the season starts, so look over the following checklist to make sure you're ready!
Neenah High School 2017 Fall Sports
All high school athletes must submit the following forms before beginning practice:

1. Authorization for disclosure of health information
2. Emergency card
3. Proof of a physical and/or alternate card (Physical must be dated April 1, 2016 or later)
4. Concussion acknowledgement
5. WIAA rules acknowledgement
6. Insurance waiver


All high school athletes and parents must attend one mandatory Code of Conduct meeting before their season. 
A code meeting for incoming freshmen will be held on Monday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. in Pickard Auditorium. A meeting for all other high school students will be held on Monday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. in Pickard Auditorium. Please plan to attend on one of these dates!

HIGH SCHOOL FEES: 
Fees must be paid before first competition - $50 per sport/activity with a maximum of $100 per student and $200 per family (cost for free/reduced lunch families is $20 per sport/activity with a maximum of $40 per student and $80 per family). This is paid during registration.

Girls 2017 Season starts in one month!

Getting excited for the 2017 season! 
The practice schedule, on the right, has been updated with the first week's schedule. The first day of the season is Aug.8th! 

Also, please remember to get all of your paperwork turned in to the Activities Office prior to the season starting.  You MUST have a physical on file at school in order to participate in practice on Aug. 8th. 

We will be doing an online clothing store this season.  All clothing orders will be due at the end of the first week of practice. More information will be coming soon on it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Aug. 8th! Go Rockets!

JUNE HIGHLIGHTS

A BIG THANK YOU to all the NHS swim team members who helped at the annual Rocket Swim Camp in early June!!
You did an excellent job of sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for swimming with the campers!

We had a great day for our team bonding trip to Noah's Ark in late June! Fun times and sunny weather!

ALL-STATE HONORS

CONGRATULATIONS on achieving All-State honors! Av Osero, Maxwell Boehnlein, Aiden Clark, Eli Rocke, Isabel Cortina attended the WISCA All-State banquet on Sunday in Hartford. 
Coach Foulks won D1 Diving Coach of the Year
and
Av Osero won D1 Diver of the Year!

Way to go Rockets! We are proud of you!
