Athletes of the Week!

 Hi Swim & Dive Families!

Wow! It's been another fantastic week for our team!  There were so many outstanding swims at yesterday's Pentathlon Meet!  All three of this week's Athletes of the Week had a fantastic meet!  Kiki Rice was the overall meet winner and the sophomore winner.  She also set a meet record in the 100IM. Abby Hollub was the senior winner and set a meet record in the 100 Breast.  Gabby Mullally was the freshman winner.  Congratulations, ladies!  Your hard work at practice and your excellent Pentathlon swims really set you apart this week!

Athletes of the Week

Hi Swim & Dive Families!

It's a team tradition to recognize three outstanding team members each week as "Athletes of the Week". On Saturday we named Ali Stingle, Malena Waters, and Rachel Resch as our first Athletes of the Week.  All three of these ladies have started the season out with a bang--both in the water and out.   Congratulations, ladies!  We are proud of you!

Hi Swim & Dive Families!

As you know, our whole team participated in a sprint triathlon last week.  As always, the competition was fierce, but in the end, Kiki won, Rachel came in 2nd, and Abby took 3rd.  Rounding out the rest of our top ten was Gabby, Emily M, Malena, Hazel, Hannah B, Bella, Lindsey, and Lauren.  Congratulations, ladies!
This year we decided to add a little twist to the triathlon:  each girl competed for points for her dryland team. The green team had three top ten finishers which now puts them in the lead.

(Abby and Kiki)
We'd like to extend many, many thank yous to all of our fabulous parent and sibling volunteers.  This year's triathlon went smoothly because we had so much wonderful help!

 (Gabby)
 (Kayla and Aliya)
 (Karla and Lauren)
 (Shelby)
 (Kennady)
 (Abby, Kiki, Rachel)

 (Ellie and Anna)
The girls all gave their best, and I hope that they all left the triathlon feeling proud of themselves!

And I can't forget to post a picture of the awesome poster the Beyer family made:
There's even a little Lego swimmer on the bottom (I love it!).

Here's to another fantastic triathlon!  Way to go ladies and volunteers!

SPASH Panther Relays Champions!

Hi Swim & Dive Families!

As promised at tonight's parent meeting, I am going to be adding lots of posts and pictures to the blog in the next few days.   I decided to start by sharing a few photos* from last Friday's SPASH Panther Relays, because it was such a great team win.  All swimmers love being on relays, so there's nothing better than a meet made up entirely of relays events.
You know what's even more fun than a meet made up entirely of relay events?  Taking down a pool record on the very first event of a meet made up entirely of relay events.  Congratulations, Abby Hollub, Hannah Blob, Rachel Resch, and Malena Waters on breaking the 200 MR pool record!  We are all so proud of you!
The whole team has so much to be proud of--there were so many awesome swims on Friday!  This week's fun meet is a pentathlon meet at DC Everest in Wausau.  Each team member will swim a 50 of each stroke and a 100 IM.  It's a fun meet to watch--we hope to see a big bunch of Neenah fans in the stands!

*I only post a few of the photos I take at each event so that there will be plenty of fun, never-before-seen photos in the end-of-the-year slideshow.

Team Fees and Other Info

Hi Swim & Dive Families,

Sorry about all the posts tonight, but there is a bunch of info I need to get out because our potluck was cancelled tonight.

1.  The potluck has been rescheduled for next Monday, August 25th at 5:30.  Everything is the same as far as who brings what.

2.  Part of what we were going to do tonight was collect team & suit fees.  We are asking that you send a check with your daughter to practice tomorrow.  The total for each girl is $77.  If your daughter worked at Saturday's car wash, the total is $50.  Please make checks out to NHS.  Here is the breakdown of what those fees cover:
$60 team suit (each girl gets to keep her suit at the end of the season)
$10 covers meals for coaches & officials at our invite and sectionals
$5 goes to GAIN (Girl's Athletics in Neenah)
$2 goes to cover our donation to the GAIN fundraiser (more info next week)

3.  Our first meet is this Friday!  We would love to see all of you up in the stands at the SPASH Relay Meet!

4.  Please make sure your daughter's bike tires are all pumped up and ready to go for Wednesday morning.  Each girl will also need a bike helmet in order to participate.

5.  Last call for parent shirts!!  If you are interested in purchasing one, you need to email Cindy Cunningham (csisto@new.rr.com) by this Wednesday, the 18th.  Cindy said you can bring a check to next Monday's potluck.  Thank you!!

Hey Alumni!

Hey NHS Swim Alumni!

The girl's season starts Tuesday--want to come back and help this week?!?  If you're in town, and you're interested in helping out, please stop by the pool Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8-11.   We'd sure love to see a big bunch of fabulous former NHS Swimmers on deck working with our new swimmers!
