Rockets Soar at State!

 Av is STATE CHAMPION diver for third time!








Here's a quick recap how we did at State:
Diving: Av 1st, Bailey 7th, Abbi 19th
200 Medley Relay: Claire, Kara, Evie, Payton were 13th 
200 Free: Claire 18th
100 Free: Claire 10th
100 Breast: Kara 19th
400 Free Relay: Evie, Rachel, Payton, Claire were 20th


15th place team finish with 47 points!
Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Madison to cheer on the Rockets!! It meant a lot to have you there!

Congratulations Rockets!

2nd place finish at Sectionals! We are proud of the great team effort last weekend! Way to go Rockets!
The Rockets won four events at Sectionals, advancing automatically to the WIAA State Meet! 
Av won Diving, Claire won the 200 Free and 100 Free and Kara won the 100 Breast.  
Also qualifying for State with one the top 24 highest points/fastest times in the State are: Bailey and Abbi in Diving, the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. 
The State Meet is at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Natatorium on Saturday, November 10th! 
Diving starts at 10am and swimming starts at 3pm!

BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE ROCKETS!

Oshkosh West Spirit Invite Champions!

Rocket divers got the meet started Friday night with some radical performances! Then the swimmers did a totally rad job of competing on Saturday with some gnarly 80's support!

The Divers were busy again on Saturday in West Bend!  Awesome job on winning the team title!
Final dual meet of the season is Tuesday at the Fond du Lac Aquatic Center at 5:30. Hope to see you there!

This upcoming Saturday will be busy!
Diving: We will host the annual Neenah Diving Invite, which will start at 10:00am
Swimming: JV Conference Meet at Appleton North pool
Bus leaves NHS at 8:15am and meet starts at 10:30am

** If JV Conference is your final meet of the season, then your final practice will be Friday, Oct. 19th.  
  • We will have a short team meeting on Monday, Oct. 22nd from 3:30-4:00 on the pool deck and then equipment turn-in.  Please wash your equipment and bring it with you to the meeting on Monday. You do NOT need to wash your parka, as they are dry cleaned.


A special THANK YOU to Bloomhuffs for hosting a team gathering on Friday!! A fun time was had by all!

Homecoming Parade!

Meet Thursday after practice at Cortina's house for parade prep and sign making from 6:00-7:15! 

Friday team activites:
  • ALL team practice from 6-7:15am!! Bring your own breakfast!
  • Wear your RED and WHITE to the parade. Be at the outdoor pool parking lot (S. Park Ave) at 4:15.
  • Parade starts at 5:00.  If you would like to toss candy while walking, please bring your own candy.
  • Parade finishes around Wisconsin Ave. and Church St.
NO PRACTICE Saturday!

TEAM FUNDRAISER
Order forms were sent home with the girls on Monday. The forms and money are due back by Oct. 3rd! We ask the girls to sell at least $50 worth of olive oil or buyout of the fundraiser for $50.

It is filled with lots of fun activities, including walking in the parade!

Help needed this Saturday!

Thank you to all those already signed up to help this Saturday at our Neenah Invite! We could not host this meet without your help!  
We are in need of one more timer (if interested, please email craeth@neenah.k12.wi.us) and 4 more people to help in concessions.  Please use this link to see where help is needed. Concessions sign-up

The girls should be on deck at 7:30am.  We warm-up at 7:45 and the meet starts at 9:00am. Meet ends around 2:30.

Thank you parents!

Thanks for attending Parents' Night on Tuesday! We appreciate all you do to support your daughter and the Rocket program! 

On a side note . . . If you were unable to attend the parent meeting in August and missed the volunteer sign-ups, please email me.  We have spots still open for timing at our home meets! Also, we ask each family to help assist with one of the pre-meet Tuesday meals, so if you did not sign-up for a certain week, we will add you to a future week.  Thanks again for all you do!

Presentation tonight

Nationally-recognized human performance expert John Underwood will speak at Neenah High School on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in an event that is free and open to the public.
Underwood is known for his work with the innovative “Life of an Athlete” program based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He has been a crusader for drug-free sport at all levels. Underwood specializes in athlete recovery and helps teach athletes how to peak in training and the impact of mental and physical performance on a lifestyle.
Underwood will speak in the Neenah High School cafeteria for parents and athletes at 7 p.m. He will speak to students at the high school during the school day.
Neenah High School has modeled its code of conduct and its current “Life of a Rocket” program based on Underwood’s research. His talks provide startling research and data in regards to the impact of drugs, alcohol, sleep, nutrition and other factors on athletic performance and brain development.

It was an action-packed week for the Rockets!



THANKS to all of our family and friends who came out to support us at the Point meet, Car Wash and our team triathlon!
A special THANKS to all the parents who helped keep the athletes safe during the triathlon! We greatly appreciate you stopping traffic, counting laps, grabbing bikes and cheering us on as we rounded the track! Also, Thanks to Diane Underhill and Bella Mullally for the snow cones!

Can't beat water balloons and poster making for our first party of the season! Then making blankets at the next party, so we are ready for the Pentathlon meet! Thank You Underhills and Cowells for hosting team parties! We had a ton of fun!

Relay Meet tomorrow in Steven's Point at Noon!
Bus leaves at 9:30 and we will return around 5:30. The meet starts at noon and there is a $5.00 admission charge for spectators.

ROCKET APPAREL IS READY!

The team's apparel store is now OPEN! Follow the lime green arrow below for the online store address. We ask all athletes to purchase the two t-shirts labeled with the red circle. Anyone can order the apparel and we love seeing Rocket apparel at our meets, so pass this along to your family and friends!

The store is open until August 16th, so get your orders in!

A big THANK YOU to our seniors for their creativity and initiative in getting the apparel going early this summer!

Two weeks until . . .

2018 Neenah Rocket Girls Swimming & Diving season!

  • The first of two code meetings offered, will be this Sunday (this is a change from the date announced at the spring meeting) at 6:00pm in Pickard Auditorium at the high school. 
  • Paperwork in?? You can not practice with the team until your physical is turned into the school.
  • The Speedo Fierce Flow has been selected as our team suit by the seniors. We will be placing the order the second day of practice, in order to get them in time for team pictures on Aug. 22nd.

  • Anyone interested in running for captain will give a brief speech to the team at practice on Saturday, Aug. 11th and then the team will vote for captains that day. In order to run for captain, you must have completed two seasons with the Neenah Swimming and Diving teams.
  • We will hand out equipment on Wednesday, Aug. 15th at practice. If you can't be at practice that day, please find a teammate to set aside a bag for you.
  • Be ready for a great season!
