It was a big week for us with the JV Conference meet on Monday, Conference diving on Friday and Conference swimming on Saturday!
The Rockets had excellent performances and team spirit and brought home the FVA Conference title!     Way to go Rockets!

We will have a whole team meeting Monday, Oct. 31st after school in the pool bleachers, from 3:30-4:00.  Please bring in your equipment if your season is complete.  The parka does not need to be washed, but all other attire should be washed before returning.  The towel can be returned or purchased for a $1.  Also, locks need to be returned and lockers cleaned out.  Please let me know if you have any questions or if you are unable to make the meeting.

Now it's on to Sectionals! Go Rockets!

Good Luck Rockets!

Sectional meet and craft fair clarification

Sorry for the confusion with the previous email! Any team members not participating in the Sectional meet, are encouraged, but not required to be at the meet.  We do need 16 team members to be timers for next Saturday.

For GAIN, they are in need of a few volunteers to help assist at the Craft Fair or provide snacks.  Just to clarify:
  • We don't require our parents to do any set number of volunteer hours, however, if you are able to volunteer for GAIN activities, the team will benefit financially at the end of the school year.
  • The "logging of hours" that was referred to was related to the sign-up link for items still need for the craft fair.  This in the link in case you are interested in helping: Craft Fair/ Swim Meet Concessions and volunteer opportunities
Thank you for all of your support and donations of your time and energy to Neenah Swimming and Diving programs!

GAIN opportunity

Next weekend is going to be an exciting time in our pool!! We host the Sectional meet with diving on Friday and swimming on Saturday
We are asking any team members not participating in the meet to time on Saturday. Each lane will need to have two team members and a parent of a Sectional swimmer.

However . . . if you can't time from Noon-3:00, then we have another opportunity to help the team at the Craft Fair!

If you are able to help fill any of these spots, please email Barbara Dennis at: bveeserdennis@gmail.com

We host our annual Rocket Invite next Saturday, Sept. 24th.  All team members will be competing at this meet. It is a large meet and we could use some more parent volunteers if you are available. Some Odds and Ends Information

  • THANK YOU for your support at our meet on Tuesday against Appleton North! It was fun to have so many parents, family and friends cheering for the Rockets!
  • Next Tuesday, Sept. 13th is Parent Night! Please plan to arrive on pool deck by 5:15, so that you can be recognized with your daughter prior to the meet.
  • Tomorrow is the Terror Relays meet at Appleton West.  The meet begins at 5:00 with diving and swimming starts at 5:30.  It is a limited entry meet, so only part of our Varsity team will be competing. Everyone else has the day off, but we hope to see some of them at the meet! Just a reminder that Appleton West's pool is 25 meters, as compared to ours, which is 25 yards.
  • Saturday's practice is 8-10am for everyone.
  • The fundraiser olive oil orders are due on Monday, Sept. 12th. The large bottles are 12.7 oz. and the bottles in the gift box are 4 oz. There was one error in the flyer.  The gift box will contain a 12-year Balsamic vinegar not an 18-year Balsamic.
  • We will be placing one more order of the team t-shirts, which are available to anyone.  Please let me know if you would like to purchase any additional shirts and what size, by Monday.
The first month of the season has been full of many activities and team spirit!  Thanks for all you do to support ROCKET Swimming and Diving!

Great News on Paperwork!

The district now offers parents the option of completing the athletic paperwork online through the Infinite Campus portal! You should be receiving a mailing on Aug. 1st, of the instructions pertaining to this new feature, from the district.
You will still need to turn in a paper copy of the PHYSICAL form, when it is due.
If you have already turned in your paperwork, that's GREAT! The athletic office will still accept paper copies of all forms this year, but will be phasing it out in the future.

NEW STARTING BLOCKS

These bold red starting blocks are an exciting new addition to our pool! They were purchased through the generous donations from supporters of NHS Swimming & Diving teams and were installed just days before the 2016 WIAA Boys Sectional meet.

We feel very fortunate to be able to use them as a regular part of our practices and meets.  Looking forward to having the girls team enjoy them for the 2016 season, which starts on August 9th!

Thanks to everyone for your support of the Rockets!  Neenah with Pride!

Boys have outstanding performances at WIAA State Meet

It was a great 2015-16 season for the Rockets! They made the trip to Madison and brought home a 15th place finish from the State Meet!
They were led by Maxwell Boehnlein's 3rd place in the 100 Breast and 6th place in the 200 IM, both of which were new team records! Eli Rocke showed great sprinting ability in placing 10th in the 50 Free and 16th in the 100 Free!
The Rockets advanced three relays to State and had excellent team efforts with a 13th place in the 200 Medley Relay, 11th in the 200 Free Relay and 21st in 400 Free Relay!

It was a great year in the pool for both the boys and girls teams! Your dedication, hard work and team spirit helped lead you to have excellent seasons, including winning Sectionals!
